IU CORE Startup SafetyX Pro Makes Top 12 at Startup World Cup Regional Final

Published on

SafetyX Pro, a startup incubated through IU CORE Cohort IV at Iqra University’s Centre of Research and Entrepreneurship, has been selected among the top 12 finalists for the Startup World Cup Regional Final, competing during B Acceleration Week at the BAT B Accelerator Tower. The selection places SafetyX Pro among a small group of ventures chosen from a regional pool of applicants for one of the more competitive startup platforms operating at the international level, and represents a significant external validation of both the startup’s quality and the incubation environment that helped shape it.

The Startup World Cup is a global startup competition that identifies and platforms high-potential ventures across regional finals before bringing the strongest performers together at its global stage. Selection as a top 12 finalist at the regional level is a competitive achievement that requires a startup to demonstrate not only the quality of its product or solution but the clarity of its business model, the strength of its team, and the credibility of its growth potential to a jury of experienced evaluators who are assessing a field of ventures from across the region simultaneously. For SafetyX Pro, reaching that stage as a startup that has come through the IU CORE incubation programme rather than through a more established ecosystem with greater access to international competition platforms makes the achievement particularly noteworthy.

B Acceleration Week at the BAT B Accelerator Tower provided the setting for the Regional Final, placing the competing startups within an acceleration environment designed to maximise the intensity and quality of the evaluation experience. For the finalists, the week offered not only the competitive dimension of the pitching process but the exposure to an international community of founders, investors, and mentors that such events bring together around the competition itself. For SafetyX Pro, whose team represented Iqra University on that regional platform, the relationships and visibility gained through participation carry value that extends well beyond the outcome of the competition itself.

IU CORE’s track record of producing startups that achieve recognition on competitive external platforms has been building steadily, with SafetyX Pro’s Startup World Cup Regional Final selection following the earlier achievement of The Brave Next, another IU CORE startup that secured selection into the Sindh Acceleration Program led by IBA Center for Entrepreneurial Development. Together these outcomes make a cumulative case for the quality of the entrepreneurship and incubation environment that Iqra University has been developing through IU CORE, demonstrating that the programme produces ventures capable of competing credibly against peers from across the region and earning recognition from institutions and platforms operating well beyond Pakistan’s domestic startup ecosystem. For the next generation of student entrepreneurs considering where to develop their ventures within an academic setting, the international achievements of IU CORE’s alumni provide a concrete and recent reference point for what is possible through the programme.
