LSE Financial Services Limited is set to raise its paid-up share capital through the issuance of 159,000,000 additional ordinary shares via a rights issue, a move approved by the company’s board of directors through a resolution by circulation dated September 14, 2026. The shares will be issued at par value of Rs1 each and offered to existing shareholders in the ratio of 58.89 right shares for every 100 ordinary shares held, translating into a 58.89 percent rights issue overall.
Of the roughly Rs159 million being raised, 75 percent, or Rs120 million, has been earmarked for Special Purpose Acquisition Companies, while the remaining Rs39 million will go toward investments in pre-IPO, IPO, and secondary public offering companies, as well as investments in associates. The board will retain discretion to allocate funds among these purposes, giving the company flexibility to respond to specific opportunities as they arise rather than locking capital into a rigid predetermined split.
LSE Financial Services has said the capital raise is intended to help establish an investment pool for expanding its participation in the SPAC and private equity markets, with the company expecting the strategy to diversify its investment portfolio, support early-stage businesses, and build a pipeline of companies that could eventually be ready for initial public offerings. That stated goal places the rights issue squarely within Pakistan’s broader effort to strengthen the connective tissue between early-stage capital and public markets, an area that has historically lacked a well-developed bridge for growth-stage companies preparing to go public.
The dates for closure of the company’s share transfer books to determine entitlement for the rights shares will be announced later, in line with Pakistan Stock Exchange regulations, once the Right Share Offer Document is finalized under the Companies (Further Issue of Shares) Regulations, 2020. LSE Financial Services traces its origins to the former Lahore Stock Exchange, incorporated in 1970, before being converted into an investment finance services company following the integration of Pakistan’s stock exchanges in January 2016, with its shares beginning trading on the Pakistan Stock Exchange in May 2024 after a restructuring involving Modaraba Al Mali and LSE Capital.
