Omer R., Founder of CyberGaar, a startup from Cohort 15 at the National Incubation Center Karachi, joined Pakistan’s cybersecurity delegation at GISEC Global 2026 in Dubai, held from September 16 to 18, 2026. The center said he represented the rising talent and innovation emerging from the country’s cybersecurity ecosystem. GISEC Global is one of the world’s leading cybersecurity events, bringing together security professionals, government officials, and technology companies, and a place in the national delegation put a young Karachi startup in front of an international audience.
CyberGaar specializes in threat intelligence, penetration testing, and risk mitigation. The company helps small businesses implement and audit security measures so they can better withstand evolving cyber threats. Small businesses are often the most exposed targets in the digital economy, since they tend to lack dedicated security staff and may not realize how vulnerable their systems are until an incident occurs. A startup that focuses on this group addresses a real gap, and it gives owners a practical way to test their defenses and fix weaknesses before attackers find them.
The center presented the appearance as evidence of the growing potential of homegrown startups to build international connections and contribute to a safer digital future. For a young company, attending a major global event offers several benefits at once. Founders can meet potential customers and collaborators from other countries, learn about the latest threats and technologies, and see how companies abroad position themselves. Being part of a national delegation also adds credibility, since it signals recognition from the wider ecosystem that the startup’s work is worth presenting on a global stage.
The National Incubation Center Karachi is funded by Ignite and the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication, and part of its role is to open doors for its startups beyond Pakistan. The announcement did not say what meetings or agreements, if any, came out of the visit, so the practical results for CyberGaar remain to be seen. What it did make clear is that the center views participation in such events as part of building a startup community with global links. For founders in the cybersecurity field, where trust and reputation matter a great deal, appearing at a leading international event is a step toward the kind of recognition that can attract clients and investors at home and abroad.
