NIC Hyderabad held its orientation session for Cohort 9, formally welcoming a new group of founders into the incubation centre’s community and marking the start of their year long incubation journey. The session opened with remarks from the Project Director, followed by introductions from the Program, Operations, and Monitoring and Evaluation teams, giving the incoming founders a closer look at the people and support structure that will work alongside them throughout their time at NIC Hyderabad.
The orientation covered what NIC Hyderabad stands for as an organisation, how its incubation programme is structured, and what both the founders and the NIC team can expect from one another as they work together over the course of the cohort. Sessions of this kind are typically used by incubation centres to set expectations early, helping founders understand the resources available to them as well as the responsibilities that come with being part of a structured incubation programme rather than operating independently.
Beyond the introductory presentations, much of the day was built around helping founders connect with one another. Interactive introductions and networking activities gave the Cohort 9 founders an opportunity to share their own startup stories and learn about the ventures being built by their peers, laying the groundwork for relationships that often continue to matter well beyond the orientation session itself. Peer connections formed during early cohort activities frequently go on to shape collaboration and mutual support among founders as they progress through the incubation programme together.
NIC Hyderabad has continued to run structured orientation sessions for each new cohort as part of its broader incubation model, using the opening days to establish a shared understanding between founders and the incubation team before moving into more intensive programming. The centre’s work is supported by partners including Ignite National Technology Fund, the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication, PTCL, LMKT and Tech Destination Pakistan, reflecting the institutional backing behind its cohort based incubation activities.
With Cohort 9 now formally underway, NIC Hyderabad’s founders are expected to move into the core phases of the incubation programme in the coming weeks, building on the connections and groundwork established during the orientation session. The centre described the beginning of Cohort 9 as the start of a journey it looks forward to being part of, alongside the ideas, collaborations and milestones expected to follow over the course of the programme.
