NIC Hyderabad Signs MoU With Raqami Islamic Digital Bank for Financial Training

Published on

National Incubation Center Hyderabad has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Raqami Islamic Digital Bank Limited, Pakistan’s first fully Shariah compliant digital bank. The partnership brings together an incubator focused on early stage startup development with a licensed financial institution, giving NIC Hyderabad’s founders direct access to formal banking sector expertise.

The partnership will focus on creating opportunities for financial literacy trainings, investor readiness sessions, and knowledge sharing initiatives, helping founders develop a stronger understanding of financial management, business fundamentals, and what it takes to approach investment with greater preparedness. This structured approach addresses a common gap among early stage founders, who often possess strong technical or product expertise but lack formal training in financial management and investor communication.

By connecting Raqami’s financial expertise with NIC Hyderabad’s startup ecosystem, the collaboration aims to move beyond awareness, giving founders the knowledge to understand their numbers, the confidence to engage with investors, and the foundation to make informed decisions as they scale. This framing distinguishes the partnership from a purely informational engagement, positioning it instead as aimed at building genuine, applicable financial competency among participating founders.

Raqami’s involvement as a Shariah compliant digital bank brings a specific dimension of financial expertise relevant to founders operating within or considering Islamic finance principles, an area that continues to hold particular relevance within Pakistan’s broader financial services landscape. This specialised perspective adds a distinct angle to the financial literacy training compared to what a conventional banking partner might offer.

The agreement was supported by Ministry Of IT and Telecommunication, Ignite National Technology Fund, PTCL, LMKT, and Tech Destination Pakistan, reflecting the institutional network tied to NIC Hyderabad’s ongoing programming. Organisers framed the partnership around the belief that building investment ready startups begins with building financially informed founders, positioning the MoU as a foundational step toward strengthening the broader financial capability of NIC Hyderabad’s incubated startup community.
