NIC Hyderabad and SABS University of Art, Design and Heritages Jamshoro have signed a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at bringing design, creativity, technology, and entrepreneurship closer together, formalising a partnership between two organisations working in distinct but increasingly overlapping domains. The agreement brings together NIC Hyderabad’s incubation infrastructure with SABS University’s specialised focus on art, design, and heritage, creating a bridge between creative disciplines and technology driven entrepreneurship.
The partnership is framed around the idea of creating more opportunities for young talent to experiment, build, and take their ideas further, moving from classrooms directly into startups. This framing positions the MoU as addressing a specific gap that often exists between design and creative education and the practical infrastructure needed to turn creative work into commercially viable ventures.
SABS University’s specialisation in art, design, and heritage brings a distinct academic perspective to NIC Hyderabad’s ecosystem, one that differs from the more conventional engineering or business school backgrounds typically associated with technology startup incubation. This collaboration reflects a growing recognition that design and creative thinking play an increasingly important role in building successful technology products, extending well beyond traditional design fields into user experience, branding, and product development more broadly.
By formalising this relationship through a signed MoU, NIC Hyderabad and SABS University have created a structured basis for ongoing collaboration, potentially involving joint programming, shared resources, or pathways for design and heritage students to access NIC Hyderabad’s incubation support as they develop entrepreneurial ideas rooted in their creative training.
The agreement was supported by Ministry Of IT and Telecommunication, Ignite National Technology Fund, PTCL, LMKT, and Tech Destination Pakistan, reflecting the institutional network tied to NIC Hyderabad’s ongoing programming. The MoU with SABS University adds to NIC Hyderabad’s broader pattern of building partnerships across different academic and institutional ecosystems within Sindh, following similar collaboration with SBBU Nawabshah, reflecting a continued strategy of connecting the incubator’s resources with a wider range of academic disciplines and student communities across the region.
