National Incubation Center Islamabad has welcomed a high-level delegation from Bangladesh under the NextGen Leaders Forum, an initiative of the Atlantic Council that is supported by the Gates Foundation and facilitated by Tabadlab. The visit brought together decision makers from Bangladesh’s technology, business, entrepreneurship, academia and media sectors to exchange knowledge, discuss shared priorities and identify chances for closer collaboration between Pakistan and Bangladesh. The incubator described it as a step in building ties through digital cooperation and knowledge exchange.
The Bangladesh delegation included Israfil Khosru, a director of the Bangladesh Cricket Board and a member of the international affairs committee of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party; Zafar Sobhan, Founder and Editor of Dhaka Tribune; Md. Rubaiyath Sarwar, Managing Director of Innovision Consulting; Shameem Ahsan, Executive Chairman of eGeneration; Shahab E. Khan, Professor at Bangladesh University of Professionals; and A.K.M. Fahim Mashroor, Chief Executive Officer of Bdjobs.com. The Atlantic Council was represented by A. Imran Shauket, Senior Adviser, and Jon Danilowicz, Senior Fellow, while Tabadlab was represented by Umar Nadeem, its Chief Executive Officer, along with Zeeshan Salahuddin, Hiba Fatima and Shah Rukh Khan.
The stop at the incubator was part of a four day leadership and innovation exchange in Pakistan, during which the delegation also met Tabadlab, Karandaaz, Globesight, the Pakistan Digital Authority, Pakistan Software Export Board, NADRA and the Special Technology Zones Authority, and attended a luncheon hosted by Bangladesh’s High Commissioner in Islamabad. The programme was designed to connect people across the two countries through exchanges between universities, businesses, technologists and civil society, and to explore institutional links that could last beyond the visit. The delegation also visited the Taxila Museum and the Gandhara heritage sites.
The incubator said the visit reflects the importance of regional engagement in advancing digital cooperation, building business connections and creating chances for shared learning, and that exchanges of this kind can help lay the groundwork for long-term collaboration between the two countries. National Incubation Center Islamabad operates with the support of the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication, Tech Destination Pakistan and Ignite National Technology Fund, and its role as a host of regional delegations adds to its work in supporting startups in the capital.
