NIC Islamabad Hosts Storytelling Workshop with Samar Hasan to Help Startups Strengthen Investor Pitches

Published on

National Incubation Center Islamabad is hosting a hands-on storytelling workshop designed to help founders strengthen the way they present their startups to investors and partners. The in-person session will feature venture builder Samar Hasan, who brings more than 15 years of experience supporting startups in refining their narratives and positioning their ventures for fundraising and growth. The workshop is scheduled for Tuesday, March 17, from 11 AM to 2 PM and will take place exclusively for startups currently incubated at NIC Islamabad, making attendance mandatory for participants in the incubation program.

Storytelling has increasingly become an essential component of startup fundraising and brand building, as founders are often required to communicate complex ideas and long-term visions within limited time during investor interactions. The session with Samar Hasan is designed to address this challenge by guiding founders on how to transform their startup journeys into compelling narratives that resonate with potential investors and strategic partners. Rather than focusing solely on pitch deck slides or financial projections, the workshop emphasizes the importance of presenting a coherent story that explains why a startup exists, the problem it aims to solve, and how its solution creates value in the market. During the session, founders will learn how to shape their entrepreneurial journeys into structured narratives that are memorable and persuasive. This includes understanding how to frame the origin of their idea, highlight key milestones, and communicate the motivation behind building their venture. By developing a clear and relatable story, founders can help investors better understand the mission and vision driving the company. The workshop will also address how startups can communicate their value proposition more effectively, ensuring that founders are able to explain not only what their product or service does, but also why it matters within a broader market context.

Samar Hasan’s experience working closely with startups and entrepreneurial teams forms the foundation of the workshop’s practical approach. Over the years, he has worked with numerous founders to refine their messaging, improve investor communication, and build narratives that align with long-term business goals. His work as a venture builder has involved helping startups clarify their positioning and articulate their “why,” which often becomes a key factor in attracting both financial backing and strategic support. Through this workshop, founders at NIC Islamabad will gain exposure to techniques that have helped early-stage companies strengthen their communication strategies and navigate investor conversations more effectively. Another focus of the session is helping startups develop a brand identity that resonates with diverse audiences, including investors, partners, and customers. In competitive startup ecosystems, the ability to communicate a clear story can influence how ventures are perceived and remembered. By learning how to present their startups with clarity and authenticity, founders can improve the chances that their ideas stand out during investor discussions or ecosystem events. The workshop will also encourage founders to view storytelling not only as a pitching tool but as an ongoing part of building a recognizable brand that reflects the values and mission of the company.

The workshop is being organized as part of NIC Islamabad’s broader efforts to strengthen the capabilities of startups participating in its incubation program. By bringing in experienced ecosystem contributors such as Samar Hasan, the incubation center aims to provide founders with practical knowledge that complements product development and business strategy. NIC Islamabad operates under the umbrella of Ministry of IT and Telecommunication Pakistan and works in collaboration with Ignite – National Technology Fund as part of the national effort to support innovation-driven entrepreneurship and technology ventures across the country.
