NIC Islamabad Hosts Youth Parliament Delegation Visit

Published on

Tomorrow’s leaders need more than ideas. They need exposure to the ecosystems shaping the future. NIC Islamabad welcomed a delegation from Youth Parliament Pakistan for an engaging visit focused on Pakistan’s evolving startup ecosystem and the role of innovation in national development, giving young political leaders direct exposure to how the country’s technology and entrepreneurship sectors actually function.

The session explored how early-stage startups, particularly in AI and DeepTech, are supported through public-funded incubation, while fostering dialogue on how youth leadership, policymaking, and entrepreneurship can work together to create meaningful economic impact. This kind of engagement gives Youth Parliament members, many of whom are likely to move into more formal policymaking roles in the future, a grounded understanding of how government-backed incubation actually operates on the ground, rather than treating startup ecosystem development as an abstract policy concept.

By connecting young change makers with Pakistan’s innovation ecosystem, the visit encouraged collaboration, knowledge exchange, and a shared vision for building technology-driven solutions to real-world challenges. This intersection between youth political engagement and the startup ecosystem reflects a broader recognition that effective innovation policy benefits from direct input and understanding from the young leaders who will eventually shape and implement it, rather than being designed in isolation from the demographic it is meant to serve.

The visit was supported by the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication, Tech Destination Pakistan, and Ignite National Technology Fund, continuing NIC Islamabad’s pattern of hosting delegations from a wide range of institutions, from universities to youth political organisations, as part of its broader effort to build awareness of and engagement with Pakistan’s innovation ecosystem across different segments of society.
