NIC Islamabad’s Investor Summit 2026 brought together investors, corporates, policymakers and founders, creating a direct platform for conversations around the future of startup investment in Pakistan. The gathering reflected NIC Islamabad’s broader ambition of building more than individual startups, aiming instead to build the connections that help founders access capital, markets, expertise and the opportunities needed to scale beyond their early stages.
The summit brought together Muhammad Bilal Abbasi, CEO of Ignite National Technology Fund, Bastien Blanc, Group Chief Executive Officer of the Startups and Other Services Division at Hashoo Group, Sayyed Ahmad Masud, Project Director at NIC Islamabad, and Yasir Amjad, Director of Acceleration and Growth at NIC Islamabad. Also present were Kamil Aziz, Head of Investments at Zayn VC, Dicle Özcan, Senior Associate at Inveo Ventures, who joined virtually from Türkiye, Shahid Abbasi, Co-Founder of Xylexa, and Awais Vohra, Chief Technology and AI Officer at Pak Telecom Mobile Limited. The mix of local and international voices gave the summit a broader vantage point on what investors, both domestic and abroad, are currently looking for in Pakistani startups.
At the center of the summit was a panel discussion titled Unlocking Access to Capital for Pakistani Founders, which moved past the simple question of raising funds to examine the fuller picture of what investors evaluate before writing a cheque. The conversation covered Series A readiness, unit economics, growth potential, investor risk appetite, corporate governance, follow-on capital, valuation and market expansion, giving founders in attendance a clearer sense of the full set of factors that shape an investment decision beyond the pitch itself.
The summit also featured nine NICI startups presenting their businesses directly to investors, including Dakia.ai, Xylexa, PromptoFlow, BizB, Najoomi, Stayovers.pk, TezAds, AI Sehat Bridge and Sky Technology and Innovations. NIC Islamabad described this as the core value of its ecosystem, bringing curated founders into the room with investors, opening conversations around capital and collaboration, and creating opportunities for startups to move from early traction toward meaningful scale. The organizers framed Investor Summit 2026 as one more step toward a more connected and investment ready startup ecosystem in Pakistan.
