Bringing incubator leadership directly in front of a government department responsible for administrative coordination signals an effort to build startup ecosystem literacy among officials who influence policy and bureaucratic processes that startups regularly have to navigate.

Hussain drew on examples from both Pakistan and leading international ecosystems, highlighting notable startups and exploring how strong ecosystems create the conditions for innovation to thrive, a comparative approach that helps officials benchmark Pakistan’s current ecosystem maturity against more established models elsewhere. The session closed with an engaging discussion and Q&A, giving SGA&CD’s senior management a chance to exchange perspectives directly and explore the evolving role of startups within Pakistan’s broader economic and innovation landscape rather than receiving a one-directional briefing.
For NIC Karachi, engaging directly with a provincial administrative department reflects a broader strategy among Pakistan’s incubation centers to build institutional understanding of the startup ecosystem beyond the IT ministry and specialized economic bodies, extending that literacy into general administrative departments whose coordination functions touch startups indirectly but consequentially.
