NIC Karachi Engages NEDUET Students To Inspire Next Generation Of Founders

Published on

Team NIC Karachi recently conducted an interactive session at NED University of Engineering and Technology (NEDUET) as part of the Cohort 15 outreach program, engaging with a cohort of students showing strong interest in entrepreneurship and early-stage ventures. The session brought together bright and ambitious students eager to understand the practicalities of launching startups while exploring innovative solutions to real-world challenges.

The engagement was led by Muhammad Furqan Karim Kidwai, Co-Founder of Plouton AI, who shared firsthand insights on building a startup from inception to execution. He discussed the process of identifying genuine problems, evaluating potential solutions, and taking actionable steps toward transforming an idea into a viable business. Students were encouraged to think critically about market opportunities, resource management, and the importance of validating concepts before scaling. The discussion also highlighted how technology and AI can be leveraged to create solutions with impact, inspiring students to explore unconventional approaches beyond their academic coursework.

During the session, NIC Karachi emphasized its role in supporting student-led startups through mentorship, networking, and structured programs designed to guide early-stage ventures. By providing access to resources, workshops, and experienced founders, the initiative aims to help students navigate the challenges of launching and sustaining startups while fostering an entrepreneurial mindset. Students were particularly receptive to insights on overcoming common hurdles, such as securing funding, building a founding team, and adopting agile development practices.

NIC Karachi’s outreach at NEDUET aligns with its broader mission to cultivate Pakistan’s startup ecosystem by identifying and nurturing emerging talent. The program aims to build a pipeline of founders who can contribute to economic growth and technological innovation. By focusing on education, practical guidance, and direct engagement with experienced entrepreneurs, NIC Karachi is creating opportunities for students to transform their ideas into operational startups. Participants were encouraged to consider both local and global markets for their solutions, underscoring the potential of Pakistan’s young founders to compete internationally.

Students who attended expressed enthusiasm for the hands-on approach, noting that mentorship from experienced founders helped bridge the gap between theory and practice. NIC Karachi continues to offer structured support through Cohort 15, enabling participants to develop business models, refine pitches, and access funding channels. Aspiring founders are invited to apply for the program through the NIC Karachi website, ensuring continued engagement with motivated students who demonstrate the drive to innovate.

This outreach highlights the growing importance of entrepreneurship education and mentorship in Pakistan, where university students increasingly view startup development as a viable career path. Programs like NIC Karachi’s Cohort 15 provide a structured platform for aspiring founders to translate ideas into businesses, while fostering a community of innovation and collaboration among young technologists and entrepreneurs.
