NIC Karachi has established an EdTech Council, led by Syed Nasir Raza Zaidi, bringing together a network of education leaders and professionals committed to advancing innovation and impact within the learning ecosystem. The council counts among its members Ambreena Ahmed, Dr. Saad Bin Aziz, Athar Khan, Huda Garib, Dr. Maheen Adamjee, S.M Omair Saeed, Bilal Hameed, and Zareen Qureshi — a mix of academics, practitioners, and sector specialists whose collective presence gives the body both institutional credibility and practical depth.
The council is framed as an ongoing initiative rather than a one-time convening, reflecting NIC Karachi’s intent to build a standing structure around education technology rather than a periodic gathering. Its stated focus spans three interconnected objectives: driving innovation within the education sector, fostering collaboration between academia and industry, and enabling sustainable ecosystem growth through shared expertise and engagement among its members.
For NIC Karachi, the establishment of a dedicated EdTech Council signals a more deliberate and structured approach to one of the incubator’s most active verticals. Education technology has consistently been among the stronger sectors within NIC Karachi’s cohorts, and formalising a council around it creates a governance layer that can shape programming, mentorship, and sector strategy in a more coordinated way than ad hoc engagement allows.
The initiative is supported by Tech Destination Pakistan, the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecom, Ignite — National Technology Fund, LMKT, LuckyOne Mall, and Orbit Ventures.
