National Incubation Center Karachi is hosting a Primary Track curriculum online session titled Business Continuity Planning, Strategies for Ensuring Cybersecurity Resilience, built around the premise that genuine cyber resilience starts with preparation rather than reactive scrambling once a disruption has already occurred. The session addresses a gap many early-stage founders leave unattended, treating cybersecurity readiness as something to figure out only after an incident forces the issue, rather than building continuity planning into a startup’s operations from an earlier stage.
The session features Syed Alay Raza, group head of information security at Raqami Islamic Digital Bank, who brings 25 years of experience in information security and IT assurance drawn from prior roles at 10Pearls, Afiniti, and Daraz before moving into banking security leadership. That background spanning both technology companies and financial services gives Raza a genuinely cross-sector view of business continuity planning, one shaped by the specific regulatory and operational resilience demands of running IT security for a digital bank alongside earlier experience in fast-moving technology environments.
The session will help founders understand how to prepare for cyber disruptions, assess risks, and build effective business continuity strategies to protect their operations, treating continuity planning as a structured discipline rather than an improvised response plan assembled after the fact. Participants will explore the key elements of a business continuity plan, proactive risk mitigation, and practical approaches to responding to cyberattacks and unforeseen disruptions, giving founders a framework applicable regardless of their specific sector or company size.
The online session is scheduled for Wednesday, 23rd September 2026, at 3:00 PM, with interested participants able to register through this link. The session continues NIC Karachi’s Primary Track curriculum for Cohort 16, following earlier sessions on sales funneling and cyber threat topics, and is supported by Tech Destination Pakistan, Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication, Ignite National Technology Fund, LMKT, LuckyOne Mall, and Orbit Ventures.
