National Incubation Center Karachi hosted the Induction Final Pitching session for Cohort 15 on March 9, bringing together a panel of industry professionals and ecosystem leaders to evaluate emerging startups seeking admission into the next incubation cycle. The event, held at NIC Karachi, served as an important step in the selection process where founders presented their ideas and technology-driven solutions to experienced judges from across media, corporate, consulting, and social impact sectors.

The pitching session brought together entrepreneurs working on innovative solutions addressing real-world challenges through technology. Founders competing for a place in Cohort 15 presented their ideas before a distinguished panel tasked with assessing the viability, scalability, and market relevance of the startups. The judging process forms a central component of NIC Karachi’s incubation model, ensuring that selected startups demonstrate strong potential for growth, innovation, and sustainable impact within Pakistan’s technology landscape.

The panel of judges for the first day of the induction process included Sheema Siddiqui, investigative journalist at GEO News Live TV, who has extensive experience covering public policy, governance, and social issues. Her presence on the panel brought a perspective focused on societal impact, accountability, and storytelling within the startup ecosystem. Alongside her was Shah Abdullah Raza, Group Chief Information Officer at Alkaram Textile Mills Pvt. Ltd, who contributed insights from the corporate technology and enterprise innovation space. With experience in managing large-scale digital transformation initiatives within the manufacturing sector, Raza provided a viewpoint on how emerging startups can align their solutions with industry needs.

Fahad Ahmed, Chief Operating Officer at OPTEM Consulting and a certified PgMP, PMP, and ITIL professional, also served as a judge during the session. His expertise in project management, consulting, and operational strategy allowed him to evaluate startup proposals from an execution and scalability standpoint. Another member of the judging panel was Nida Tanzeel, Social Performance Manager at Wafi Energy Pakistan, the Shell Licensee in Pakistan. Her professional experience focuses on sustainability and social impact initiatives, contributing valuable insights into how startups can integrate responsible business practices and community-focused solutions within their growth strategies.

Komal Kenneth Shakeel, Head of Partnerships and Collaboration at Ignite National Technology Fund, also participated in the judging process. Ignite plays a central role in Pakistan’s technology development ecosystem by supporting startup incubation, innovation programs, and digital skill initiatives across the country. Her involvement reflected the organization’s continued engagement in strengthening the pipeline of early-stage startups emerging from incubation centers supported under national innovation programs.

National Incubation Center Karachi operates as part of a broader initiative designed to foster entrepreneurship, technology innovation, and startup development across Pakistan. The center is supported by Ministry of IT and Telecommunication Pakistan and Ignite National Technology Fund, while its operations are managed by LMKT in collaboration with ecosystem partners including LuckyOne Mall and Orbit Ventures. Through incubation, mentorship, and investor access, NIC Karachi provides founders with the resources needed to transform early-stage ideas into scalable ventures.

The Cohort 15 induction process highlights the continued momentum of Pakistan’s startup ecosystem, where new founders are developing technology-driven products aimed at solving challenges across sectors such as commerce, services, sustainability, and digital infrastructure. By bringing together founders and experienced industry leaders, NIC Karachi’s pitching sessions create a platform where innovative ideas can be evaluated, refined, and supported through structured incubation programs designed to help startups move from concept to market-ready solutions.

As founders presented their ventures during the judging session, the discussions focused on product innovation, business models, market potential, and long-term impact. The evaluation process not only determines which startups will be selected for the upcoming cohort but also offers entrepreneurs valuable feedback from professionals representing diverse sectors of Pakistan’s business and technology landscape.
