NIC Karachi Hosts Leadership Session with Amneh Shaikh-Farooqui

National Incubation Center Karachi is hosting a session titled You Don’t Have to Do It Alone on Thursday, July 2, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the NIC Karachi premises, led by Amneh Shaikh-Farooqui, Chief Executive Officer and Founder of polly and other stories. The session is built around the principle that building a startup does not mean building it in isolation, focusing instead on helping founders understand the genuine power of ecosystems, partnerships, and strong support networks in determining whether a venture can navigate the inevitable challenges of early-stage growth successfully. Registration is open through the official link at lnkd.in/dX2bGgsy.

The session addresses a tendency among many founders, particularly those building in resource-constrained environments, to default toward an isolated, self-reliant approach to problem-solving that can ultimately limit a venture’s growth and resilience. Amneh Shaikh-Farooqui will guide participants through how founders can build meaningful collaborations that genuinely add value to their venture rather than functioning as superficial networking relationships, leverage strategic partnerships to access resources, expertise, and market opportunities that would be difficult to develop independently, and strengthen their own leadership confidence as they navigate the demanding and often isolating experience of leading an early-stage company.

The session’s emphasis on creating sustainable growth through the right ecosystem reflects a broader understanding within the startup development field that the most resilient and successful ventures are rarely built through pure individual effort, but through founders who have developed the skill of identifying, cultivating, and leveraging the right relationships at the right moments in their venture’s development. Participants will gain practical insights on stakeholder mapping, a structured technique for identifying and prioritising the individuals and organisations whose support, resources, or influence could meaningfully affect a venture’s trajectory, helping founders move from an unfocused approach to relationship building toward a deliberate, strategic one.

Partnership building forms another practical component of the session, addressing how founders can structure and pursue strategic partnerships that genuinely benefit their venture rather than entering into superficial or poorly defined collaborative arrangements. Self-advocacy is addressed as a distinct and often underdeveloped skill, recognising that many founders, particularly women founders navigating environments where their leadership may be questioned more readily than their male counterparts, need to develop the specific capability to advocate effectively for themselves, their ventures, and their needs within investor conversations, partnership negotiations, and broader professional contexts. The session culminates with participants creating a 90-day leadership action plan, giving them a concrete, time-bound framework for translating the session’s insights into specific, actionable steps they can implement immediately following the workshop. The session is supported by Tech Destination Pakistan, the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication, Ignite, LMKT, LuckyOne Mall, and Orbit Ventures, and founders interested in attending are encouraged to register at lnkd.in/dX2bGgsy ahead of the July 2 session.
