NIC Karachi is set to host a cybersecurity awareness session on May 7, 2026, at 3:00 PM, bringing together startup founders and entrepreneurs to build a clearer understanding of the digital risks that define the current threat environment. The session will be led by Syed Faiq Hasan, Head of Security Operations and Implementations at Bank Alfalah Limited, and will cover both common and emerging cyber risks alongside industry-specific exposure points that are particularly relevant to early-stage businesses.
The session is designed to give startup teams a practical understanding of how cyber threats can disrupt business continuity and where vulnerabilities tend to surface within their own operational environments and target markets. Participants will be taken through how to assess weak points in their systems and how to think more strategically about defense planning — moving away from reactive responses toward a more considered approach to cybersecurity readiness.
A key focus of the session will be on proactive awareness, with Hasan drawing on his experience at Bank Alfalah Limited to illustrate how financial sector-grade security thinking can be applied within leaner startup contexts. The session sits within NIC Karachi’s Cybersecurity Track, a programming vertical aimed at equipping founders with knowledge that is often overlooked in the early stages of building a company, when product development tends to dominate attention over infrastructure and risk.
The event is supported by Tech Destination Pakistan, the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecom, Ignite — National Technology Fund, LMKT, LuckyOne Mall, and Orbit Ventures. Those interested in attending can register via the link shared in NIC Karachi’s official post.
