NIC Karachi × Orbit Ventures Acceleration Program Cohort 2 Kicks Off With Elevator Pitch Workshop

Published on

NIC Karachi, in collaboration with Orbit Ventures, has commenced its highly anticipated Acceleration Program for Cohort 2, marking the beginning of an intensive journey for five promising early-stage startups. The opening session featured an essential workshop on Elevator Pitch 101, led by Kelly Pang, Senior Program Manager at Orbit Ventures, aimed at equipping founders with the ability to communicate their value proposition clearly, confidently, and effectively in just seconds. This foundational session set a high standard for the program, providing the cohort with tools to articulate their vision and strategy to investors, partners, and other key stakeholders.

During the session, founders engaged in hands-on exercises to refine the core elements of their elevator pitches, learning how to succinctly present their problem statement, solution, and early traction. The workshop emphasized the importance of capturing attention instantly, tailoring narratives to specific audiences, and crafting memorable messages that resonate. Founders were guided through strategies to ensure their pitches spark curiosity, foster meaningful conversations, and open doors for potential collaborations, investments, and strategic partnerships.

This first workshop also highlighted the broader objective of the Acceleration Program, which is to prepare startups for high-growth trajectories by combining skill-building sessions, mentorship, and practical guidance. Participants were encouraged to critically assess their narratives, identify unique differentiators, and present their startups with clarity and conviction. By focusing on elevator pitching as a critical skill, the program underscores the importance of effective communication in securing investor interest, building credibility, and positioning early-stage ventures for success in competitive markets.

In addition to pitch training, Cohort 2 founders gained insights into how storytelling, clarity, and audience awareness can influence investor decisions and partnership opportunities. Kelly Pang emphasized that a compelling pitch is not just about information but about creating an experience that leaves a lasting impression. Founders left the session with actionable strategies to refine their messaging, enhance confidence, and approach future investor meetings with precision and impact. This structured start aims to ensure that startups entering NIC Karachi × Orbit Ventures Acceleration Program are not only operationally prepared but also equipped to present themselves effectively to the broader entrepreneurial ecosystem.

The launch of Cohort 2 reinforces NIC Karachi and Orbit Ventures’ commitment to nurturing early-stage startups, providing them with mentorship, resources, and guidance necessary to scale their businesses. By focusing on core skills such as elevator pitching, the program ensures that founders can convey their vision, secure support, and accelerate their growth trajectory. As the cohort progresses, these startups are expected to translate these skills into tangible opportunities, positioning themselves as investment-ready ventures capable of navigating the competitive startup landscape in Pakistan and beyond.
