NIC Peshawar Hosts Climate Jirga To Explore Environmental Solutions Together

Published on

National Incubation Center Peshawar recently hosted a Climate Jirga, bringing together a diverse set of voices to discuss pressing environmental challenges facing the region. The session drew participants from academia, industry, and the local community, structured around traditional jirga style dialogue to encourage open and inclusive discussion on climate related issues affecting Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the wider country.

Participants shared local perspectives on the effects of climate change, exploring practical pathways toward building a more resilient and sustainable future. The format allowed for a range of viewpoints, from grassroots community concerns to institutional and policy level considerations, reflecting the multifaceted nature of climate challenges in Pakistan.

The session reinforced the importance of collective dialogue and community led action in addressing climate change, positioning conversation itself as a starting point for broader environmental initiatives. National Incubation Center Peshawar has increasingly used such forums to connect its startup ecosystem with pressing social and environmental issues, aligning innovation focused programming with sustainability concerns relevant to the region it serves.

The event was supported by institutional partners including Ignite, LMKR, Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication, LMKT, and Orbit Startups, along with academic and industry collaborators such as Sybrid, IM Sciences, Rehman Medical Institute, CECOS University, and Frontier Platinum. The gathering adds to a growing list of engagements through which NIC Peshawar has sought to extend its reach beyond conventional startup incubation and into community facing dialogue on national challenges.
