NIC Peshawar Hosts Women Only Road To DevFest Buildathon To Build With Google AI

Published on

GDG Peshawar has announced NIC Peshawar as the venue partner for Episode 02 of the Road to DevFest Buildathon, a hands-on event open exclusively to women. The session will be held tomorrow, 7 November 2026, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at NIC Peshawar, bringing together participants from different backgrounds for an afternoon of learning and building with Google AI. The Buildathon is part of the Road to DevFest series, a run of community events that leads up to DevFest Peshawar, the city’s Google developer festival organized by GDG Peshawar. Where the main festival gathers developers for talks and networking, the Road to DevFest sessions are smaller and more practical, giving participants a chance to work with tools directly before the larger gathering.

According to the organizers, the day is designed around working on problems that matter to local communities. That gives the Buildathon a purpose beyond tool training, since participants are expected not only to learn how Google AI products work but to apply them to real challenges they see around them. A short build session becomes most useful at the point where learning turns into making something, and the format of this event is centered on that step. Because the participants come from different backgrounds, the mix of experience in the room can shape the kinds of problems teams choose to take on and the ways they approach them.

The choice of NIC Peshawar as venue brings the event into a workspace that supports startups and early stage ventures in the region. For participants, meeting at an incubation center places the Buildathon close to the local startup scene, where ideas developed during a build session can find a next step. For the organizers, a venue partner makes it easier to host a full afternoon of hands-on work in a dedicated space. Keeping the event exclusively for women also creates a room where participants can learn, experiment and build alongside peers, a practice that Google Developer Groups chapters regularly follow through sessions aimed at women in technology.

Episode 02 builds on the first episode of the series and keeps momentum going toward the main DevFest Peshawar event. Each episode in a run like this gives the community a regular point of contact, and a venue partnership with an established center like NIC Peshawar adds continuity for participants who want to stay involved beyond a single afternoon. The Buildathon takes place on 7 November 2026 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at NIC Peshawar, and women interested in taking part can register through the link shared by GDG Peshawar.
