The cohort at National Incubation Center Sialkot has completed a session on Business Model Design and Roadmaps led by Raza Khan, a specialist in public policy, sustainability, private sector development, monitoring, evaluation and learning, and SME competitiveness. The session followed an earlier announcement from the center and gave founders a focused look at how a business is structured, going beyond a list of activities to the logic that connects a company’s customers, revenue, and operations.
During what the center described as a deep dive, the founders explored the core mechanics of effective business architecture. Raza guided them through strategic frameworks for designing models that can adapt to changing conditions, since an early stage company rarely keeps the same assumptions about its market for long. A model built to be flexible lets a founder adjust pricing, customer segments, or delivery methods without having to start again, which matters in markets where demand, costs, and regulation can shift quickly.
The session also drew on Raza’s background in development and policy work, linking business design to wider outcomes. NIC Sialkot said the frameworks were aimed at models that drive long term value, foster private sector development, and produce a measurable economic impact. That emphasis on measurement reflects his experience in monitoring and evaluation, where an organisation is expected to show what it has achieved with evidence, a habit that also helps startups when they report progress to investors, grant providers, or partners.
For Sialkot, a city whose economy has long rested on manufacturing and exports, bringing a private sector development specialist into the incubation programme gives founders a view of how their ventures can fit into the local business landscape as well as the national one. The center operates with support from the Ministry of IT and Telecommunication, Ignite National Technology Fund, CyberVision International, and Mobilink Bank, and the session adds to its series of practitioner led workshops for the cohort, which have also covered storytelling, e-commerce growth, and meeting women founders.
