OPEN Lahore, the Lahore chapter of the Organization of Pakistani Entrepreneurs, has formed a Global Outreach and Digital Communications Committee following a gathering of its leadership, charter members, executive team and volunteers. Zeshan Qureshi, a senior charter member who also hosted the evening, will chair the new committee. The chapter described the move as a step toward strengthening its global engagement, improving digital connectivity and creating opportunities for entrepreneurs and professionals. The meeting was attended by President Anwar Kabir, Vice President Faeza Asad Khan, General Secretary Shuja Ul Hasan and members of the executive team, who used the evening to exchange ideas and look at new directions for what the chapter calls its growing entrepreneurial community. OPEN is a network that began in Boston in 1998 and opened its Lahore chapter in 2013, and Kabir, who is Founder and CEO of the Lahore agency Brand Spectrum, was elected president of the chapter and also sits on the OPEN Global board.
The committee gives the chapter a defined group responsible for two areas that it considers central to its growth. Global outreach covers the chapter’s links with OPEN’s other chapters and with entrepreneurs and professionals abroad, while digital communications covers how the chapter presents its work and reaches members online. Placing both under one committee suggests the chapter wants its overseas relationships and its online presence to develop together rather than as separate efforts. The announcement did not list the committee’s other members or set out specific targets, so its first projects will show how much weight the chapter intends to give it.
The chapter also announced three engagements for the coming week. On 13 November, OPEN Lahore will take part in the DigiLeaders Conference in Lahore. On 14 November, it will hold a special breakfast gathering with its first Chairman, Zafar Khan, together with volunteers and executive members. On 15 November, a meetup hosted by Usman Asif at Devsinc will bring together OPEN Lahore members with charter members from OPEN Silicon Valley and OPEN Chicago. The last event is the most direct test of the new committee’s purpose, since it puts Lahore’s members in a room with counterparts from two of the network’s North American chapters and gives the chapter a chance to turn its stated interest in global connections into working relationships.
The chapter said it draws on the strength of OPEN’s global network and the energy of more than 100 young volunteers in Lahore, and that it remains committed to encouraging collaboration, supporting entrepreneurship and connecting local talent with global opportunities. Qureshi was thanked for hosting the gathering and for his continued commitment to the OPEN community. The announcement framed the work as an effort to build a stronger entrepreneurial ecosystem one connection at a time, and the events planned for 13 to 15 November will be the first visible sign of how the chapter plans to do it.
