Pakistan Startup Connect, a startup matchmaking platform developed by Ignite – National Technology Fund under the Ministry of IT and Telecommunication Pakistan, has earned global recognition for its contribution to SME digital transformation and startup acceleration. The platform was featured in the “ICT-Empowered SMEs 2025” study, published by CAICT and BIFNC under the International Telecommunication Union Acceleration Centers Network and presented at WTDC 2025 in Baku. This acknowledgment highlights the expanding influence of Pakistan’s ICT ecosystem and its increasing role in fostering innovation and supporting small and medium-sized enterprises.

The study emphasizes how digital tools and platforms are transforming SMEs by providing access to technology, investment opportunities, and global networks. Pakistan Startup Connect was cited as an exemplary initiative demonstrating how coordinated national efforts can enhance the digital capabilities of startups and SMEs alike. By connecting entrepreneurs with mentors, investors, and resources, the platform strengthens the capacity of local businesses to scale, innovate, and compete on an international level. The recognition serves as a validation of the strategic efforts by MoITT, Ignite, and National Incubation Centers across Pakistan in cultivating an environment conducive to digital entrepreneurship.

The platform’s inclusion in the global foresight study reflects Pakistan’s growing role in accelerating SME digital adoption and supporting a thriving innovation ecosystem. Startups across Pakistan have benefited from the matchmaking services, which not only provide access to funding and mentorship but also facilitate collaboration with other stakeholders in the technology ecosystem. By integrating advanced digital tools and fostering international connections, Pakistan Startup Connect enhances the country’s ability to participate in global innovation networks and attract investment into its tech sector.
