Posturepro Care Physical Therapy Gilgit-Baltistan | Dr. Saleem Shazad and Dilsoroor’s Startup Story

Published on

A physiotherapist based in Gilgit-Baltistan identified a gap that many in the region had long lived with quietly: patients needing basic physical therapy were regularly forced to travel long distances to larger cities, absorbing not just the physical toll of their conditions but also the financial and emotional strain of seeking care far from home. Dr. Saleem Shazad Pt decided to address that gap directly, and Posturepro Care Physical Therapy was born out of that resolve.

What makes the venture distinct is the partnership at its core. Dr. Saleem’s wife, Dilsoroor, joined him not as a supporter on the sidelines but as a co-founder and active partner in building the business. Together, they translated a community need into a professional physiotherapy setup that brings treatment closer to the people who need it most — without requiring them to leave their region for care that should be available locally.

The startup reflects a broader pattern emerging across Pakistan’s smaller cities and underserved regions, where founders with professional backgrounds are increasingly turning to entrepreneurship not as a career pivot but as a direct response to gaps in service delivery. In Gilgit-Baltistan, where geographical terrain already makes mobility a challenge, access to specialised healthcare has historically been constrained. Posturepro Care Physical Therapy positions itself as a community-rooted solution to that structural limitation.

Dilsoroor’s role as co-founder also places the venture within a growing cohort of women-led and women-partnered startups emerging from regions outside Pakistan’s major urban centres — a segment of the entrepreneurship landscape that has received comparatively little attention despite its growing presence. Her involvement from the ground up signals a deliberate and equal partnership in both the vision and execution of the business.

The story of Posturepro Care Physical Therapy has been featured as part of Accelerate Prosperity Pakistan’s ongoing series highlighting founders whose work is driven by impact as much as by commercial ambition.
