PTCL Group Empowers Women Entrepreneurs in Haripur Through Ba-Ikhtiar Program

In honor of International Women’s Day, PTCL Group has teamed up with Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF) and National Rural Support Programme (NRSP) to empower 100 women entrepreneurs in Haripur, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

This collaboration is part of the “Ba-Ikhtiar” program, a year-long initiative aimed at bridging the digital gap and providing women with the tools and financial knowledge needed to establish sustainable businesses.

As part of “Ba-Ikhtiar,” PTCL Group has distributed smartphones with pre-loaded SIM cards, offered one-year free data packages, and facilitated the setup of UPaisa mobile wallets in partnership with U Microfinance Bank (UBank).

In the next phase, the program will provide digital marketing and financial training to empower participants to explore new opportunities online.

Recognizing the importance of technical skills in entrepreneurial success, the “Ba-Ikhtiar” program provides comprehensive training sessions in financial management and digital marketing. Through these sessions, PTCL Group aims to empower women to navigate the digital landscape confidently and promote their businesses online, thereby expanding their customer base.

Syed Atif Raza, Chief Marketing Officer of PTCL & Ufone 4G, expressed the company’s commitment to social progress through innovation. He emphasized the importance of strategic partnerships to invest in long-term development, highlighting the significance of the “Ba-Ikhtiar” program in empowering women entrepreneurs.

CEO of PPAF, Nadir Gul Barech, stressed the importance of digital technology in unlocking opportunities for women’s personal and professional growth. By providing digital literacy training to female entrepreneurs in Haripur, PPAF aims to enhance their marketing skills and promote businesses on digital platforms, fostering inclusivity and prosperity.

Through these initiatives, PTCL Group is positioned as a driving force for women’s economic empowerment, contributing to a more equitable and prosperous future for Pakistan.
