SEDF and UNIDO Open Enterprise Grant Scheme for Sindh SMEs Worth Rs35 Million

Published on

The Enterprise Grant Scheme by Sindh Enterprise Development Fund, in partnership with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization under the European Union funded Poverty Alleviation and Inclusive Development Across Rural Sindh programme, is now open, offering support to eligible small and medium enterprises and new businesses looking to build, expand, upgrade, and grow. The scheme carries an application deadline of the fifteenth of September, twenty twenty six.

The programme targets five specific districts, Larkana, Thatta, Badin, Tharparkar, and Sujawal, focusing grant support on rural areas of Sindh that have historically had limited access to formal business financing. According to SEDF, the initiative aims to support capable and eligible SMEs with the resources needed to grow their businesses and create sustainable incomes for underprivileged communities within these target districts.

Both existing small and medium enterprises looking to expand their businesses or upgrade their technology, as well as startups and new enterprises, are eligible to apply, giving the scheme a broad applicant base spanning established businesses and newer ventures alike. The programme has identified five priority project clusters for funding, fisheries and aquaculture, innovation and technology including IT systems and science and technology projects, research and development, waste recycling and bio-waste utilisation, and women led businesses.

The maximum grant support available under the scheme reaches up to Rs35 million, giving successful applicants substantial capital to support their business development plans. The application process follows a six stage structure, beginning with eligibility and completeness screening, followed by technical and financial evaluation, due diligence, review by a pitching committee, notice of award, and finally a grant agreement, reflecting a thorough vetting process designed to ensure funds reach genuinely viable and eligible businesses.

Those interested in applying can submit complete applications through the SEDF Grant Portal at https://portal.sedf.gos.pk/Grants, with further queries directed to egrants@sedf.gos.pk or by calling 021 99225184-86. The scheme adds to SEDF and UNIDO’s continued collaboration under the Paidar Sindh Programme, following earlier grant disbursements to SMEs across rural Sindh as part of the broader enterprise development initiative.
