SEDF and UNIDO Open Enterprise Grant Scheme Under Paidar Programme

Published on

The SEDF and UNIDO, under the EU-funded Paidar Programme, have opened the Enterprise Grant Scheme for small and medium enterprises looking to expand an existing business or build a new venture from the ground up. The scheme offers a structured funding pathway for businesses at different stages, whether they are established SMEs seeking to scale their operations or entrepreneurs looking to launch something entirely new, giving the programme a fairly broad applicability across Pakistan’s SME landscape.

Businesses focused on growth, innovation, expansion, and long-term impact are being encouraged to apply, with the grant opportunity positioned as a way to provide the concrete support needed to move a business forward rather than simply offering advisory guidance without accompanying financial backing. This framing suggests the scheme is aimed at SMEs with a clear growth trajectory or expansion plan already in mind, rather than businesses still in the earliest stages of defining their direction.

The application portal is now open for document submissions, giving eligible SMEs and prospective entrepreneurs the opportunity to formally apply for the grant. Applicants with questions about the process can reach out directly to egrants@sedf.gos.pk for clarification on eligibility, documentation requirements, or other aspects of the submission process, while interested businesses can submit their applications through the portal link at https://lnkd.in/dCqWSmzw.

Organisers have cautioned applicants not to wait until the last moment, noting that the application deadline is approaching quickly. This kind of enterprise grant scheme, backed by international development institutions such as UNIDO alongside domestic bodies like SEDF, reflects the continued role that EU-funded development programmes play in supporting SME growth across Pakistan, offering businesses a funding avenue distinct from more commonly discussed venture capital or bank financing routes, particularly for SMEs pursuing expansion or new venture creation outside the more startup-specific incubation ecosystem.
