SEIC Signs MoU with GEN-Pakistan Flagship Programs to support Startups

Published on

SEIC has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with GEN-Pakistan Flagship Programs, joining hands to support innovation and strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem across Sindh. The agreement brings together two organisations already active in supporting founders and early stage ventures within the province, with the collaboration aimed at building a more coordinated approach to advancing entrepreneurship in the region rather than each organisation operating independently on overlapping goals.

The agreement is framed around a shared interest in fuelling innovation and supporting startups, positioning the collaboration as a way for both institutions to combine their respective strengths and networks in service of founders working across Sindh. Agreements of this kind between ecosystem organisations typically aim to reduce duplication of effort while expanding the combined reach and resources available to entrepreneurs, allowing founders to draw on a broader pool of support than either organisation could offer independently.

GEN-Pakistan operates as part of the Global Entrepreneurship Network’s presence in the country, running flagship programmes aimed at supporting entrepreneurship at various stages, while SEIC has built its own base of activity supporting startups and engaging directly with investors and founders within the province. Bringing these two organisations together through a formal agreement suggests an intent to align their respective programming more closely, potentially creating clearer pathways for founders to move between different forms of support as their ventures progress.

The signing of this MoU adds to a broader pattern seen across Pakistan’s startup ecosystem, where organisations increasingly seek formal collaboration agreements to expand their combined impact rather than competing for the same pool of founders and resources. Agreements of this kind often lay the groundwork for joint programming, shared events or coordinated support initiatives that emerge over the following months as the collaborating organisations work out the practical details of how they intend to work together.

Both SEIC and GEN-Pakistan Flagship Programs described the agreement as a step toward more meaningful collaboration within Sindh’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, with further details of joint initiatives expected to follow as the partnership progresses. The agreement reflects continued efforts across the province to consolidate support structures for founders and strengthen the broader infrastructure needed to help early stage ventures grow within the region.
