TDAP Holds E Commerce Digital Skills Session For Women Entrepreneurs

Published on

Trade Development Authority of Pakistan’s Women Entrepreneur Division, in collaboration with Pakistan Institute of Trade and Development, organized an interactive awareness session titled E-Commerce and Digital Skills for Women Entrepreneurs on 15 September 2026 at PITAD, Islamabad. The session addressed a specific gap that has repeatedly surfaced in TDAP’s broader work with women entrepreneurs, that many women-led businesses have the products and market interest needed to sell internationally but lack the digital operational skills required to actually manage that growth in practice.

The session covered e-commerce, digital entrepreneurship, digital marketing, online business growth, digital payments, and digital transformation, alongside opportunities for accessing both domestic and international markets. Framing digital payments and digital transformation as distinct topics from digital marketing reflects an understanding that building an online business requires more than customer-facing promotional skills, extending into the operational and financial infrastructure that keeps a growing digital business functioning smoothly behind the scenes.

Participants gained practical insights into building digital businesses, maintaining business records, using data and digital tools, and progressing from local online selling toward genuine export readiness, treating this progression as a deliberate staged journey rather than an automatic outcome of simply listing products online. This staged framing echoes TDAP’s own established approach to women’s entrepreneurship development, which has previously grouped women entrepreneurs by product, quality, design, and production capacity to tailor support according to where each business actually sits along its own growth trajectory.

The event brought together women entrepreneurs from Islamabad and Rawalpindi alongside representatives from Islamabad and Rawalpindi Women Chambers of Commerce and Industry, giving the session direct institutional backing from the chamber networks these entrepreneurs already engage with locally. Women entrepreneurs actively participated throughout, engaging directly with experts and sharing their own experiences through practical presentations and interactive discussions covering business establishment, digital capability building, and e-commerce driven expansion. The event concluded with a certificate distribution ceremony, reaffirming TDAP’s continued commitment to strengthening women entrepreneurs’ digital capabilities and expanding their participation in Pakistan’s digital commerce and export sector, extending a body of work that has also included recent sessions in Sialkot through the Khadijah Women Entrepreneurship Program.
