The United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan has officially launched its Innovation Hive in Islamabad to help Pakistani entrepreneurs and startups connect with US based experts, technology, business networks and potential markets. The launch gives Pakistan’s startup ecosystem a dedicated, permanent channel into the American business world, rather than relying on occasional events or one off introductions to build those connections.
Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja and US Embassy Chargé d’Affaires Natalie Baker jointly inaugurated the initiative, lending it a level of diplomatic and governmental weight that underscores how seriously both sides are treating the effort to link the two countries’ startup communities. The Innovation Hive is designed to create new opportunities for Pakistani businesses by giving entrepreneurs access to international expertise and professional networks, allowing startups to seek guidance from US experts, explore new technologies and build business connections that can support their growth.
As part of the initiative, USEFP plans to connect more than 250 US mentors with Pakistani entrepreneurs during the first year, with these mentors providing practical guidance and sharing their experience directly with local startups and business owners. The platform will also host a range of activities throughout the year, including monthly Links and Leads sessions, startup demo days and online certificate programmes, with these activities focused on market access, networking and developing practical business skills. Located on the lower ground floor of the USEFP building in Islamabad, the Innovation Hive will operate as a standing platform for connecting Pakistan’s startup community with US based experts, companies and professional networks going forward.
The initiative will also give Pakistani entrepreneurs more opportunities to learn from international professionals and explore potential collaborations, with the broader aim of bringing local startups closer to US business networks to support innovation and help businesses move beyond the domestic market. For a startup ecosystem where access to experienced mentors, relevant technology and genuine international market exposure can be hard to come by, the Innovation Hive offers a dedicated space for entrepreneurs to build these connections and gain practical knowledge that can shape their next steps toward growth.
