Digital freight forwarding startup, Voyage Freight, based in Pakistan, proudly announced on Monday that it has successfully raised over $1 million in pre-seed funding, with Indus Valley Capital leading the investment round. The funding injection is intended to propel Voyage’s vision of reshaping the international shipping landscape in Pakistan and extending its operations across the MENA region.

Voyage Freight specializes in providing exporters with an end-to-end global shipping solution, leveraging cutting-edge technology. The company highlights this funding milestone as a significant step in its mission to simplify the logistics industry for Pakistani exporters. The primary focus is on building a streamlined and improved export logistics process through an innovative, technology-driven platform.

Co-founded by Omar Mukhtar, an alumnus of University College London and the London School of Economics, Voyage aims to establish itself as a key player in the logistics sector within the MENA region, beginning with a robust foundation in Pakistan.

The secured funds are anticipated to catalyze Voyage’s mission to offer a transparent, efficient, and cost-effective shipping experience for the burgeoning trade market in Pakistan.

Aatif Awan, the founder of Indus Valley Capital, expressed excitement about the partnership, stating, “Voyage’s vision of simplifying global freight for anyone in Pakistan, especially new and smaller exporters, really resonated with us.”

Voyage Freight sets out to address challenges inherent in traditional freight forwarding processes in Pakistan, such as lack of transparency and complex customs procedures. The company adopts an approach that consolidates all shipping operations onto a single dashboard, granting clients real-time visibility and control over their cargo.

According to Omar Mukhtar, the co-founder of Voyage Freight, the current global economy underscores the significance of efficient exporting for the growth and competitiveness of industries. He affirmed, “Our aim is to democratize access to global markets for exporters.”

The secured funding is expected to play a pivotal role in realizing Voyage Freight’s objectives and contributing to the transformation of the international shipping sector in Pakistan and the broader MENA region.
