The Pakistan Software Women (PSW) Khadijah Women Entrepreneurship Program recently hosted an insightful webinar titled “E-Commerce Opportunities for Women Entrepreneurs,” featuring e-commerce expert Faisal Butt. The session attracted over 130 participants eager to learn how to leverage international markets through e-commerce platforms.

The webinar focused on empowering women entrepreneurs by highlighting the formal e-commerce export process in Pakistan. Faisal Butt detailed the critical roles played by commercial banks and courier companies in facilitating smooth and efficient cross-border e-commerce transactions, providing attendees with practical knowledge to expand their businesses internationally.

This event was part of the broader Pakistan E-Commerce Platform (PEP) initiative led by PSW, which aims to enable Pakistan’s micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to conduct seamless cross-border operations electronically through e-marketplaces. The PEP initiative is designed to cover the end-to-end process of cross-border e-commerce transactions by ensuring efficient data exchange among all relevant stakeholders.

Moreover, the platform will streamline foreign exchange remittance reconciliation and the settlement cycle by linking order placement on e-marketplaces, customs clearance, and last-mile delivery. This integrated approach is expected to significantly ease the complexities associated with international e-commerce, making it more accessible to women-led businesses in Pakistan.

The webinar also acknowledged the valuable contribution of the Student Society of Entrepreneurial Aspirations at GC University Lahore, which co-hosted the event and provided fresh perspectives on digital entrepreneurship. The interactive session concluded with a lively Q&A segment, where participants had the opportunity to address their queries and gain actionable insights into succeeding in the digital economy.

By focusing on the intersection of gender and digital trade, PSW’s Khadijah Women Entrepreneurship Program continues to support and inspire women entrepreneurs across Pakistan, enabling them to harness technology and innovation for sustainable business growth.

This initiative is a significant step toward promoting inclusive economic development by encouraging women to actively participate in Pakistan’s expanding e-commerce sector. As the digital economy grows globally, such programs ensure that women entrepreneurs in Pakistan remain competitive and well-equipped to navigate the international marketplace.
