Startup Huddle has officially launched in Karachi, marking a new milestone for Pakistan’s entrepreneurial community. The initiative, operated under the Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN), aims to build a collaborative space where founders can openly discuss their business challenges, share insights, and seek solutions from peers, mentors, and industry experts. Startup Huddle Karachi joins a global network of over 60 chapters worldwide and is set to host its first local event this month.
The program is designed to address one of the most important yet often overlooked aspects of startup success — ecosystem connectivity. According to GEN research, startup communities with stronger local connectedness see a greater number of successful ventures, while founders with high connectivity grow their revenue twice as fast as those with weaker ties. By fostering a culture of peer learning and mentorship, Startup Huddle Karachi hopes to strengthen this critical link for entrepreneurs in the city.
“Karachi is Pakistan’s economic heartbeat — diverse, fast-moving, and full of untapped talent,” says Syed Rizwan Ali, the local organizer leading the initiative. “Yet many entrepreneurs lack structured mentorship and visibility. Startup Huddle offers a recurring, safe space where founders can present challenges, receive guidance, and connect with mentors, investors, and ecosystem partners.”
Each Startup Huddle event will feature local founders giving six-minute presentations about specific business hurdles they are facing. This will be followed by a 20-minute discussion where peers, educators, and mentors contribute feedback and ideas to help overcome those challenges. The format promotes collaborative problem-solving rather than competition, encouraging a cycle where previous presenters return as contributors to support new founders.
Ali adds that the program is open to everyone, from students and freelancers to women entrepreneurs and non-tech founders. The goal is to create an inclusive platform that encourages diverse participation and builds a culture of trust and collaboration. “Our vision is to make these sessions free and accessible, focusing on learning through dialogue rather than contest. We want to see 50 or more startups collaborating regularly within a year, representing Karachi at national and global levels,” he shares.
Startup Huddle Karachi is supported by the Business Incubation Center at Bahria University Karachi Campus and GEN Pakistan. Their involvement ensures that the program is not only community-led but also connected to established institutions offering technical expertise and mentorship resources. This partnership is expected to bring structure and continuity to Karachi’s rapidly growing startup scene, especially for early-stage founders seeking both guidance and visibility.
