Pakistan Gears Up for Strategic Forum on Climate Innovation and Financing

Published on

Pakistan’s climate challenges are intensifying, with the need for innovative solutions growing alongside environmental pressures. Founders, researchers, and sector enablers across the country are responding with new technologies and strategies, yet systemic barriers continue to slow the scaling of these innovations. To address these challenges, a focused dialogue on the structures needed to support climate solutions is becoming increasingly critical.

On 18 December 2025, Invest2Innovate (i2i), supported by Visa Foundation, will host a strategic session bringing together a diverse set of stakeholders from Pakistan’s climate ecosystem. The session will include insights from Renewables First, Climate Innovation Pakistan (CLIP), Climate Finance Pakistan, and Breathe Pakistan, alongside contributions from ecosystem leaders Hassan Iqbal Khan of Zyp Technologies and Farva Minhas of Asia Foundation. The goal of this forum is to provide a practical, solution-oriented discussion on the realities of climate innovation in Pakistan and the mechanisms required to scale impactful projects.

Participants in the forum will examine areas where Pakistan’s climate innovation pipeline is strongest and explore the financing mechanisms that are currently available. A key focus will be on the accessibility of these mechanisms, as many early-stage founders struggle to find the de-risking capital necessary to move from prototype to validation and eventually to scale. Discussions will also cover the shifts required to mobilize local capital, aiming to reduce dependence on foreign climate finance while strengthening domestic investment channels.

The session will provide an in-depth look at the real challenges faced by founders, including regulatory hurdles, manufacturing bottlenecks, talent gaps, and difficulties in customer adoption. By bringing these issues to the forefront, the forum seeks to identify actionable solutions that can make the climate innovation ecosystem more resilient and effective. Attendees will engage in strategic dialogue aimed at designing systems that can support sustainable growth for climate startups and ventures across Pakistan.

From Challenge to Change: Powering Climate Innovation in Pakistan is structured to benefit those who are directly involved in building and enabling climate solutions, including founders, ecosystem support organizations, policymakers, investors, and other actors committed to a sustainable future. Unlike high-level discussions, this session emphasizes practical steps and collaborative problem-solving to ensure that innovative solutions can move efficiently through the stages of development and scaling.

The forum will take place on 18 December from 3:00 to 4:30 PM PKT and will be conducted live on Zoom. Interested participants can register and access additional details via this link. By fostering collaboration and addressing critical barriers to growth, the session aims to build the systems required to carry Pakistan’s climate solutions forward and create a more robust, locally empowered climate innovation ecosystem.
