Farmdar Partners with Sojitz’s KDX to Deliver Satellite and AI Crop Insights for Thai Farmers

Published on

Farmdar is set to support the mission of Sojitz Kaset Dee X Co., Ltd. (KDX) in driving farmer yield impact and improving return on investment for growers in Thailand. The collaboration follows a high-level meeting held last week to explore how Farmdar’s satellite and AI-driven crop intelligence solutions can integrate into KDX’s agri platform model and strengthen data-backed decision-making for farmers.

Sojitz Corporation Group is a global general trading company that creates value and prosperity by connecting the world with a spirit of integrity. The group operates across a broad range of sectors, including manufacturing, sales, imports, exports, services, and diversified investments in Japan and international markets. In 2024, Sojitz expanded its agricultural footprint in Southeast Asia by establishing Sojitz Kaset Dee X Co., Ltd. as an agri-platform subsidiary in Thailand.

Through KDX, Sojitz aims to deliver advisory services, farming materials, equipment access, and financing solutions to Thai farmers. The objective is to improve farming efficiency and sustainability while increasing farmer prosperity through structured services and improved access to agricultural inputs and market linkages. The KDX model focuses on creating a centralized agri platform where farmers can access recommended services and products from agricultural processing companies, farming material and equipment manufacturers, and financial institutions.

Farmdar’s role within this ecosystem centers on delivering a comprehensive enterprise solution powered by satellite imagery and artificial intelligence. By providing real-time crop monitoring, yield estimation, and performance insights, Farmdar seeks to address one of the most pressing challenges facing farmers in Thailand: optimizing yield while ensuring strong ROI on input costs. Data-driven insights can support more precise decisions related to irrigation, fertilizer application, crop health monitoring, and harvest planning.

The integration of AI-based analytics with KDX’s service model is expected to enhance transparency and productivity across the agricultural value chain. With satellite-based intelligence layered onto the agri platform, farmers can receive targeted recommendations and performance metrics rather than relying solely on traditional advisory approaches. This digital enablement has the potential to reduce inefficiencies, mitigate risks linked to climate variability, and strengthen financial planning for growers.

The planned collaboration reflects a broader shift toward digital agriculture in Southeast Asia, where agri platforms are emerging as structured ecosystems connecting farmers with suppliers, buyers, and financial service providers. By combining Sojitz’s established trading and investment expertise with Farmdar’s technology-driven crop intelligence capabilities, the initiative aims to create measurable improvements in yield outcomes and economic returns for Thai farmers.

As discussions progress, both organizations are aligned around enabling farmers to leverage an integrated platform that connects insights, inputs, and financing within a single operational framework. The focus remains on practical impact at the farm level, using technology to strengthen productivity and sustainability while supporting long-term agricultural prosperity in Thailand.
