NIC Karachi to Host Online Session on Setting KPIs and OKRs for Startup Growth

National Incubation Center Karachi is organizing a curriculum session focused on helping startup founders develop structured performance measurement systems through Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Objectives and Key Results (OKRs). The online session titled “Setting KPIs and OKRs for Growth” is scheduled for March 17, 2026, at 11:00 AM and will guide founders through the process of defining measurable goals that align with their startup’s strategic direction. The session is part of NIC Karachi’s broader effort to equip startups with practical tools that support sustainable growth and operational clarity within early-stage ventures.

The session will be conducted by Muhammad Furqan Karim Kidwai, who will share insights on how startups can establish effective performance frameworks to track progress and make informed decisions. Founders often face challenges when it comes to identifying which metrics truly reflect the health and growth of their ventures. Through this workshop-style curriculum session, participants will gain a clearer understanding of how to structure KPIs and OKRs that not only measure results but also guide teams toward achieving long-term objectives. By introducing founders to practical methods of defining performance indicators, the session aims to help startups develop a disciplined approach to monitoring their business performance. Participants will also learn how to design a preliminary KPI dashboard that highlights critical metrics relevant to their startup operations. The dashboard approach allows founders to visualize key data points in a structured format, making it easier to monitor progress across different areas such as product development, customer acquisition, revenue generation, and operational efficiency. By outlining key metrics alongside target values, founders can establish measurable benchmarks that help teams stay aligned with broader strategic goals. The session will also focus on refining individual KPIs to ensure they remain relevant, actionable, and directly connected to a startup’s growth trajectory.

Another important aspect of the discussion will revolve around aligning performance indicators with company strategy. For many early-stage startups, growth often involves rapid experimentation and frequent shifts in priorities. Without clearly defined metrics, teams may struggle to evaluate whether their efforts are producing meaningful results. By introducing founders to the OKR framework, the session aims to provide a structured method for translating strategic objectives into measurable outcomes. This approach enables founders and their teams to focus on high-impact goals while maintaining clarity around what success looks like within specific timeframes. NIC Karachi continues to host curriculum sessions and training programs designed to strengthen the capabilities of entrepreneurs participating in its incubation ecosystem. These initiatives are intended to help startups move beyond idea validation and develop operational systems that support scaling and long-term sustainability. By inviting experienced professionals such as Muhammad Furqan Karim Kidwai to lead these sessions, the incubation center aims to create opportunities for founders to gain practical knowledge directly applicable to their businesses. Learning how to define and track KPIs effectively can play a significant role in helping startups maintain focus, evaluate performance, and make strategic adjustments when required.

The session will take place online, allowing founders and participants to join remotely through a registration link provided by NIC Karachi. The incubation center operates as part of the national network of technology incubators working to support innovation and entrepreneurship across Pakistan. Its initiatives are carried out with support from Ministry of IT and Telecommunication Pakistan and Ignite – National Technology Fund, while ecosystem partners including LMKT, LuckyOne Mall, Orbit Ventures, and Tech Destination Pakistan contribute to building an environment that encourages startup development and collaboration within the country’s technology landscape.
