BIC University of Balochistan Concludes Three-Day Open House and Business Plan Competition

Published on

The Business Incubation Centre at University of Balochistan has successfully wrapped up its three-day Open House and Business Plan Competition, marking the end of an intensive programme that brought early-stage startups through structured business plan development, mentorship sessions, and formal evaluation. The closing ceremony was held at the Business Incubation Centre premises and drew senior university leadership, faculty members, and domain experts who have been engaged with the participating teams throughout the duration of the activity.

The closing ceremony was attended by Vice Chancellor of University of Balochistan, Professor Dr. Zahoor Ahmed Bazai, and Pro Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. Abdul Razzaq Shahwani, both of whom served as Guests of Honor. The two interacted directly with the participating startups, offered observations on their work, and shared guidance intended to support their continued entrepreneurial development. They also acknowledged the role of Business Incubation Centre management in actively building a culture of innovation and enterprise within the university. Among the other distinguished attendees were Professor Dr. Zainab Bibi, Dean of the Faculty of Management and Information Sciences, and Dr. Kaneez Fatima, Director of the Institute of Management Sciences, alongside faculty members from the same department.

A notable part of the closing ceremony was the formal recognition of the mentors and evaluators who worked with the startups across all three days. Professor Dr. Saubia Ramzan, Dr. Khuram Shahzad, and Dr. Muhammad Danish were acknowledged for their continuous involvement in guiding, assessing, and providing professional feedback to the participating teams. Shields were distributed to each of the experts in recognition of their contributions, a gesture that underscored the value placed on sustained mentorship rather than one-off judging.

Dr. Furqan Ul Haq Siddiqui, Director of the Business Incubation Centre, used the occasion to place the competition within a longer arc of opportunity for the startups involved. He highlighted that the activity was designed to prepare teams for upcoming platforms including the Startup Challenge Cup, Investor Summit, and other avenues focused on funding and scaling. Business Incubation Centre at University of Balochistan has positioned itself as a consistent enabler of entrepreneurial talent in Balochistan, and events of this kind reflect its ongoing effort to move that work beyond awareness and into measurable preparation for the startup ecosystem.
