Ignite Extends PM Cloud Program Batch 2 Deadline to July 10

Published on

Ignite, the National Technology Fund operating under the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication, has extended the application deadline for Batch 2 of the Prime Minister Cloud Program for Startups to July 10, 2026, giving Pakistani technology startups additional time to submit their applications for a national initiative designed to help ventures scale faster, reduce infrastructure costs, and accelerate their growth through structured cloud adoption support. Applications can be submitted through the official portal at ignite.org.pk/get-supported, and the programme is open to Pakistani technology startups at the deployment or scaling stage that are offering technology-based products or services and are using or planning to adopt cloud infrastructure as part of their operational model.

The Prime Minister Cloud Program for Startups is structured around a reimbursement and guidance model that makes cloud infrastructure more accessible and financially viable for early and growth-stage ventures that might otherwise defer cloud adoption due to the upfront costs that enterprise-grade cloud infrastructure typically requires. Selected startups may receive up to 60 percent reimbursement on approved cloud costs, with the exact percentage determined by the stage and tier of the venture within the programme framework. Beyond the financial reimbursement, participants receive technical guidance on cloud architecture, service selection, and cost optimisation from experts who can help founders make informed decisions about how to structure their cloud infrastructure in ways that support rather than constrain their growth plans. Access to global and local Cloud Service Provider networks adds a market access and partnership dimension to the programme, giving participating startups connections to the technology partners whose platforms they are building on or considering.

The deadline extension to July 10 provides a meaningful additional window for startups that were aware of the programme but had not yet completed their applications before the original June 15 deadline, as well as for ventures that are only now encountering the programme for the first time through the extended announcement. For startups that are currently at the deployment or scaling stage and are actively managing cloud costs as a significant line item in their operational budget, the prospect of receiving up to 60 percent reimbursement on those costs represents a material financial benefit that can free up capital for product development, team growth, and market expansion activities that are often competing with infrastructure spending for limited early-stage resources. The programme’s requirement that participants report quarterly on their usage and impact creates the accountability framework that ensures the reimbursements delivered through the programme translate into measurable outcomes rather than simply subsidising existing spending patterns.

The national incubation network’s involvement in the programme’s communication and outreach, spanning NIC Islamabad, NIC Karachi, NIC Lahore, NIC Faisalabad, NIC Hyderabad, NIC Sialkot, and National Incubation Center for Aerospace Technologies, reflects the programme’s intent to reach Pakistani technology startups across the full geographic range of the country’s incubation ecosystem rather than concentrating its benefits among the ventures that are already most plugged into the national technology infrastructure. For startups building in secondary cities and emerging startup centres where cloud adoption rates may lag behind those in the major urban technology hubs, the programme provides both the financial incentive and the technical guidance that can accelerate the transition to cloud-based operations and the productivity and scalability benefits that transition enables. Eligible founders who have not yet applied are encouraged to do so at ignite.org.pk/get-supported before the July 10 extended deadline to secure consideration for one of the programme’s available slots.
