Wafi Energy Tameer Awards Visit NIC Islamabad

Published on

Wafi Energy Pakistan, operating as a Shell licensee, brought its Tameer Awards soft launch to NIC Islamabad, where representatives Nida Tanzeel and Aniqa Yaqub engaged directly with founders based at the incubation centre. The visit was designed to introduce NIC’s resident startups to the upcoming awards programme while creating a working session in which founders could practise pitching and receive direct feedback from the Wafi Energy team ahead of any formal application process.

Rather than limiting the session to an informational briefing about the awards, organisers structured the visit around live pitching, giving founders the opportunity to present their businesses in front of an audience with direct stakes in the Tameer Awards selection process. Four startups took part in the pitching segment, including Pak Organic Life, Horizon Preps, Zeromatics, and ezGeyser, each presenting their ventures and fielding feedback on their pitch delivery and business positioning from the visiting Wafi Energy representatives.

The format gave participating founders exposure to the kind of scrutiny and questioning they are likely to encounter during the formal Tameer Awards process, while also allowing them to engage with the Wafi Energy team on what effective pitching and award applications tend to look like in practice. For early-stage founders, sessions of this kind often carry value beyond the immediate feedback, offering a chance to build familiarity with stakeholders who may play a role in future funding or recognition opportunities.

The visit was supported by the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication, Tech Destination Pakistan, and Ignite National Technology Fund, reflecting the continued involvement of public sector and ecosystem enabling bodies in NIC Islamabad’s founder-facing programming. As the Tameer Awards move from soft launch toward a full application cycle, sessions such as this one are likely to serve as an early filter through which NIC-based founders test and refine their pitches before engaging with the awards process more formally.
