NIC Karachi Orbit Ventures Acceleration Program Opens Applications for Cohort 4

Published on

NIC Karachi and Orbit Ventures’ Acceleration Program is back with Cohort 4, supporting startups that are ready to strengthen their business, sharpen their strategy, expand their networks, and unlock their next stage of growth. The programme continues a three month acceleration model launched in partnership with Orbit Startups, a Singapore based investor focused on emerging markets, designed to fast track high potential, tech driven startups each year.

The programme is aimed at founders looking to scale their operations, access new opportunities, or build a stronger path forward, positioning Cohort 4 as suited for startups with a working product and some early traction rather than those still at a purely conceptual stage. Previous cohorts of the programme have offered up to Rs5 million per startup in milestone based grants, disbursed against key achievements rather than as a single upfront payment.

The Acceleration Program is jointly managed by Orbit Ventures, with close oversight from NIC Karachi, Ignite, LMKT, and Yunus Brothers Group, reflecting a structure that combines Orbit’s international investment expertise with NIC Karachi’s local incubation infrastructure and government backing. Previous cohorts have targeted founders solving real problems in underserved markets, particularly across fintech, agritech, e-commerce, healthcare, education, and mobility, among other sectors.

William Bao Bean, Managing General Partner of Orbit Startups, has previously described Pakistan as one of the most overlooked startup markets globally, pointing to the country’s young, digital first population and ongoing technology driven economic transformation as indicators of significant growth potential. Orbit Startups has backed more than three hundred startups globally, bringing this international network and expertise directly to NIC Karachi’s accelerator participants.

Those interested in applying for Cohort 4 can do so through the link shared as part of the announcement at https://lnkd.in/dVfuv6hf, with the programme continuing to be supported by Tech Destination Pakistan, Ministry Of IT and Telecommunication, Ignite National Technology Fund, LMKT, LuckyOne Mall, and Orbit Ventures. The programme’s continued expansion into a fourth cohort reflects NIC Karachi’s ongoing evolution from a startup launchpad toward what organisers have described as a growth stage acceleration powerhouse, aligned with national economic priorities and global innovation trends.
