Mobilink Bank Executive Wins GSMA Women Digital Leadership Gold

Published on

Quratulain Chaudhary, vice president for women financial inclusion and advocacy at Mobilink Microfinance Bank, has received the GSMA Women Digital Leadership Gold Award 2026 for her GSMA APAC ChangeTheFace write-up titled From the Ground Up, How Trust, Technology, and the Courage of Women Are Rewriting Pakistan’s Digital Future. The recognition follows her first GSMA Women Digital Leadership Award in 2024, giving her a second consecutive win that reflects sustained rather than one-off recognition of her work advancing women’s financial inclusion in Pakistan.

Chaudhary’s award-winning write-up centers on the origin story of the Bibi App, a mobile health application developed in partnership with Shifa International Hospital and Mobilink Microfinance Bank, dedicated to breast cancer awareness, early detection guidance, and health literacy for Pakistani women. The app launched publicly in May 2026 and was built to be multilingual, reaching women in Urdu and regional languages, and free of cost, designed specifically for women who need it most rather than only those who can afford it, addressing a population that has historically been underserved by both formal healthcare and financial systems simultaneously.

The app itself was developed by Aangan, a WIN incubatee under Mobilink Bank’s Women Innovators Network, giving this Gold win a direct connection to Pakistan’s incubation ecosystem rather than treating it as a purely corporate social responsibility initiative disconnected from startup infrastructure. Mobilink Bank has framed the Bibi App’s success as spotlighting women-led digital innovation from Pakistan, positioning the initiative at the intersection of women’s health, technology development, and financial inclusion, three areas Chaudhary has worked across for fifteen years in Pakistan’s financial sector, having started as one of the few, often the only, female branch and area manager in her region.

The Gold Award adds to a broader pattern of recognition Mobilink Bank and its executives have received at GSMA’s regional events, having previously won a Digital Nations Award at M360 Asia-Pacific for an inheritance calculator helping women claim their rightful inheritance rights. Chaudhary’s continued recognition reflects what Mobilink Bank describes as the bank’s and its employees’ ongoing commitment to advancing women’s financial inclusion through innovation, participation, and leadership, extending a body of published work through GSMA’s platforms that has consistently focused on closing Pakistan’s persistent gender gap in digital and financial access.
