Innovative Pixels Art, a startup incubated at Iqra University’s Centre of Research and Entrepreneurship, has been selected to represent Pakistan at Tokyo Game Show 2026 as part of the Pakistan Pavilion in Chiba, Japan. The studio specializes in two-dimensional animation and hand-drawn, frame-by-frame visual storytelling, offering services spanning game trailers, manga production, character design, and comic book illustration, positioning it within the creative production side of the gaming industry rather than game development itself.
Tokyo Game Show 2026 runs from September 17 to 21 at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, marking the event’s 30th anniversary edition, and this year’s show is expected to feature major exhibitors including Square Enix, Capcom, and SEGA and Atlus alongside a wide range of international pavilions. Innovative Pixels Art’s inclusion in the Pakistan Pavilion places the studio alongside Centre of Excellence in Gaming and Animation’s own delegation at the same event, giving Pakistan a broader collective presence at TGS 2026 spanning both game development studios and specialized creative production houses.
For a studio built around hand-drawn, frame-by-frame animation specifically, exhibiting at one of the industry’s largest global gatherings offers direct exposure to international game studios and publishers who increasingly outsource specific creative production work, including trailers and concept art, to specialized external studios rather than building every capability in-house. That production model makes an event like TGS particularly relevant for Innovative Pixels Art’s specific business, since the connections made there could translate into direct commissioned work rather than only brand visibility.
IU CORE framed the milestone as reflecting the talent, innovation, and global potential of Pakistan’s emerging startups, tracing a direct line from the studio’s early development within the incubator’s cohort structure to this international stage. The achievement adds to a growing list of Pakistani gaming and animation ventures gaining international visibility this year, following CEGA’s own delegation to Tokyo Game Show and Lahore Frames’ recent showcase of animation talent, reflecting a broader momentum building across Pakistan’s gaming and creative technology ecosystem as multiple institutions push their incubated startups toward major international platforms.
