The Pakistan Startup Fund participated in the NIC Islamabad Investor Summit as an Ecosystem Enabler, engaging with founders, investors, industry leaders and key ecosystem stakeholders. The fund’s presence at the summit gave attendees direct access to one of the country’s dedicated startup funding institutions, offering a chance to understand how a public backed fund fits into the broader landscape of capital available to Pakistani ventures.
Nayab Babar, CFA, CIO and PD at Pakistan Startup Fund, briefed participants on the fund’s role in supporting startup growth, enabling investment and building closer connections between promising Pakistani startups and the wider investment ecosystem. Her briefing gave founders and investors alike a clearer picture of how PSF positions itself within the funding chain, particularly for startups that may be too early stage or too niche to immediately attract conventional venture capital.
The summit provided a platform for meaningful conversations, investor engagement and collaboration aimed at building up Pakistan’s startup landscape more broadly. Bringing together founders, investors and ecosystem enablers such as PSF in one setting allowed for the kind of direct, in person exchange that can be harder to replicate through separate meetings or formal channels alone.
The Pakistan Startup Fund’s participation adds to the summit’s broader role in connecting different parts of Pakistan’s startup ecosystem, alongside National Incubation Center Islamabad, National Incubation Center Lahore and National Incubation Center Karachi. The event continues to be supported by the Ministry of IT and Telecommunication Pakistan and Ignite National Technology Fund.
