LCE Launches High-Potential Ideas Hub to Help Pakistani Founders Find Real Market Gaps Faster

Published on

The LUMS Centre for Entrepreneurship has launched the High-Potential Ideas Hub, a dedicated repository built for people who have the skills to build but are still searching for the right problem to solve. The initiative starts from a simple premise: a meaningful startup begins with finding real, structural market gaps rather than chasing whatever idea happens to be fashionable at the moment. By spotlighting the areas where Pakistan’s startup ecosystem needs innovation most, the hub gives aspiring founders, student builders and technical professionals a place to begin their search with evidence rather than guesswork, which is often the hardest step for people who are otherwise fully ready to start building. Many early ventures struggle not because the team lacks ability but because the problem they chose was never urgent enough for customers to pay for, and a resource focused on problem selection speaks directly to that risk.

To build the repository, LCE sat down with pioneering founders and industry leaders to dissect emerging trends, persistent challenges and high-potential spaces across major verticals. The conversations feature the founders of ABHI, Marham, Code School, Denovonet and FasalPay, giving readers direct access to people who have already turned a market problem into a functioning company in Pakistan. Rather than offering abstract advice about entrepreneurship, the hub is designed to show what it actually takes to solve problems that matter, drawing on the lived experience of founders who have worked through the same questions that aspiring entrepreneurs are asking today. Hearing how established builders spotted their own opportunities, and what they learned along the way, can help newer founders judge which gaps are genuine and which only look attractive from the outside.

A resource of this kind addresses a gap that many universities and incubators encounter. Technical talent is plentiful among Pakistani students and young professionals, but the path from having skills to identifying a problem worth building a company around is rarely laid out clearly. Founders who have already built in the market are well placed to explain where demand is underserved, which challenges keep recurring, and which spaces still leave room for new entrants. Collecting these perspectives in one repository means an aspiring founder no longer has to track down scattered interviews or rely on secondhand opinions to understand where the opportunities lie, and it gives mentors and faculty a shared reference point when advising students who are still deciding what to build.

The hub is open for anyone to explore through the repository link, with LCE encouraging visitors to tap through, read what the founders have shared, and start building. The launch fits within LCE’s wider programming for early stage entrepreneurs, which includes its Slingshot Accelerator and its Idea Launch workshops, and it adds a resource aimed at the earliest stage of all, when a founder is still deciding what to build rather than how to build it. For Pakistan’s startup community, a public, founder-led guide to high-potential problem areas offers a practical starting point for anyone ready to put their skills to work on challenges that the market is still waiting to see solved, and it reinforces the message LCE has attached to the launch, which is to build in Pakistan with a clear sense of the problem first.
