UET Lahore to Host Guest Lecture by Entrepreneur Shahrez Hayder on Building, Scaling and Automation

The University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore will host an exclusive guest lecture by Shahrez Hayder, a Pakistani-born Canadian entrepreneur, investor and global mentor, on Thursday at 1:30 PM in the Main Auditorium of the university. The session is titled around mastering the art of building, scaling and automation, and is aimed at giving students and aspiring founders a practical look at how entrepreneurial ventures are started and grown. Entry is free, and the organizers have said the lecture is open to all students and aspiring entrepreneurs, which means attendance is not restricted to UET students alone.

According to the announcement, the lecture is designed to help participants learn the blueprints of entrepreneurial success and global scaling. For young founders in Pakistan, the question of how to move from an early idea to a company that can serve customers beyond the local market is one of the hardest to answer, and sessions that bring in speakers with international experience are a common way for universities and incubators to expose students to that thinking. The focus on automation in the title also suggests that the talk will address how founders can build processes that allow a business to grow without a matching rise in manual effort, though the announcement did not give a detailed agenda.

The event is being hosted and collaborated on by BIC at UET Lahore and TICK, both of which are named on the poster as organizing partners. Bringing a campus incubation body together with an outside organization reflects a wider pattern in Pakistan’s startup ecosystem, where universities are working with external partners to give students direct access to mentors, investors and founders instead of limiting entrepreneurship to the classroom. The announcement did not provide details on a registration process, a question and answer segment or any follow-up mentoring for students who attend, so interested participants may need to check with the organizers closer to the event.
