Mustafa Kamal Headlines Startup Government Dialogue On Healthier Pakistan At National Incubation Center Karachi

The National Incubation Center Karachi has announced that Syed Mustafa Kamal, Federal Minister for National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination, will be Chief Guest at a Startup-Government Dialogue titled Innovating for a Healthier Pakistan. The event, part of the center’s HealthTech 2026 program, will be held on Friday, November 6, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM at the center on the NED University campus. The center described the minister’s participation as an honor and framed the session as a chance for health startups and government to speak directly.

A dialogue between startups and the government matters in health technology because regulation shapes what a company can build and sell. Health startups work with patient data, medical devices, and clinical claims, all of which fall under federal or provincial rules, and founders often say that unclear approval processes slow them down. A session chaired by the federal health minister gives founders in Karachi a chance to put their questions about licensing, data, and public sector adoption in front of the person who sets national health policy.

The minister has recently spoken about many of these issues. At a health exhibition in Karachi in September, he called for greater investment in preventive care and health technologies, and said the government was digitizing the licensing and registration of medical devices, cutting processing times for applications that once took up to two years to about 21 days. He also said the government was discussing with the National Database and Registration Authority the use of each citizen’s identity card number as a universal medical record number, a step that would matter greatly for any startup building digital health records or patient services.

Founders and others interested can register through the center’s event page. The National Incubation Center Karachi is funded by Ignite and the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication, and it hosts a number of health technology startups in its cohorts. The announcement did not list other speakers, the format of the dialogue, or the topics for discussion, so those details are likely to follow as the date approaches. For health startups in Karachi, the session offers a rare chance to hear the minister’s priorities for the sector and to raise the practical obstacles that stand between a prototype and a product in hospitals and clinics.
