Innovative Pixels Art, a startup incubated at Iqra University’s Centre of Research and Entrepreneurship, known as IU CORE, has represented Pakistan at Tokyo Game Show 2026 in Chiba, Japan. The company exhibited its work as part of the Pakistan Pavilion, and Iqra University has publicly celebrated the appearance as a proud moment for the university and its incubation center. Photos shared with the announcement show the team at the pavilion booth, with signage identifying Innovative Pixels Art as a 2D art and animation production company, and one team member on the show floor in front of a large stage screen. For a startup that began in a university incubation program, taking a booth at one of the largest gaming events in the world marks a clear step beyond the local market.
The Pakistan Pavilion that hosted the company was itself a first. Pakistan fielded its first national pavilion at the show under the name TechDestination Pakistan Game Pavilion, bringing 12 Pakistani game development and creative technology companies to Makuhari Messe, with live game demonstrations, introductions to art production workflows and one to one business meetings with company leaders on the program. The Pakistan Software Export Board organized the 72 square metre pavilion in collaboration with the Japan International Cooperation Agency, and it was described as a way for Pakistani companies to present directly to publishers, investors, studios and buyers from Japan and the wider Asia Pacific region. Innovative Pixels Art appeared alongside other Pakistani studios and the Center of Excellence in Gaming and Animation, which gave the group a shared presence rather than a series of separate booths.
The show gave the pavilion a large audience. Tokyo Game Show 2026 ran from 17 to 21 September at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, marked its 30th anniversary and became the first edition to run for five days, and organizers expected about 300,000 visitors and reported a record 1,138 exhibiting companies and organizations. In Iqra University’s words, the event gives innovators a global platform to present their work, meet industry leaders and look for new opportunities in the international gaming ecosystem. For a young company that works in game art and animation, that mix of publishers, studios and buyers in one venue offers contacts that would take far longer to build through remote outreach alone.
The appearance also reflects what IU CORE says it is trying to do for the startups it supports. The university stated that, through IU CORE, it remains committed to helping innovative startups turn their ideas into impactful ventures and explore opportunities beyond national borders, and Innovative Pixels Art is a visible example of a team making that move. Iqra University congratulated the company for representing Pakistan’s creative potential on the global stage. The announcement did not say whether the company signed deals or secured new clients in Japan, so the commercial outcome of the trip is still to be seen. What the appearance does show is that a game art startup from a Pakistani university incubator can reach an international trade floor, and that the country’s gaming sector is now being presented abroad through a national pavilion with government and development agency backing.
