In a heartwarming display of talent and inclusivity, students from the BINAE Education Foundation participated in the prestigious Pakistan Culinary Summit – Star Chef Awards 2023 held in Karachi. The event was made even more special by the participation of students from the Independent Living Course at BINAE, many of whom are visually impaired. Under the leadership of Sarwat N Shah, Chairperson of BINAE and Charter President of the Rotary Club of Karachi Silver Sands, the students showcased their culinary skills, leaving a lasting impression on everyone present.

A significant highlight of the event was the participation of these talented visually impaired students in the Live Cooking Competition, where they prepared dishes under the expert guidance of their teacher, Ms. Tahira Suriya. Their standout creation, a traditional Karahi, left the judges in awe. The panel, initially unaware that the dish was prepared by visually impaired individuals, was astounded by the students’ remarkable culinary talents.

The Pakistan Culinary Summit, organized by Ms. Asma Imran of Pro Skills and Mr. Zeeshan of Global Events, took a socially inclusive approach, ensuring that persons with disabilities had an opportunity to showcase their skills. The event was graced by Chief Guest Junaid Ali Shah, who visited the Live Cooking Station and praised BINAE for their outstanding efforts in empowering the visually impaired through vocational training.

This participation marks a significant milestone for the BINAE Foundation, which has long been dedicated to providing education and skills training to individuals with disabilities. For the Foundation, this event was not only a proud moment but also a reflection of the growing awareness and inclusivity in Pakistani society.

By participating in the Pakistan Culinary Summit, the BINAE Foundation has proven that disability is no barrier to achieving excellence. The event not only celebrated culinary skills but also highlighted the importance of creating opportunities for persons with disabilities to shine on national platforms. The management of BINAE expressed deep gratitude for the opportunity to participate in such an esteemed event and for the appreciation their students received.

This event serves as a reminder of the potential that exists within every individual and the importance of platforms that recognize and support talent across all abilities.
