Ignite – National Technology Fund, operating under the Ministry of IT & Telecom, has launched what is being described as Pakistan’s largest initiative for the gaming and animation industry. In collaboration with HUM Network Limited, Ignite has officially signed the establishment of the Center of Excellence in Gaming and Animation (CEGA), a platform designed to transform Pakistan’s creative talent into a force capable of competing on the global stage.

The new center reflects a vision to unlock opportunities in one of the fastest-growing segments of the digital economy. With the potential to contribute significantly to exports, job creation, and youth empowerment, CEGA will act as a launchpad for both aspiring creators and early-stage startups working in gaming, animation, and interactive content.

The initiative is ambitious in its scale. Over the next five years, CEGA is set to incubate 200 startups, nurture talent across the creative technology spectrum, and provide training for 10,000 individuals in disciplines such as game design, animation, and immersive storytelling. In addition, the center will offer 100 free co-working seats, ensuring that Pakistan’s brightest creative minds have access to resources, mentorship, and a collaborative environment where ideas can flourish.

At the signing ceremony, Federal Minister for IT & Telecom Shaza Fatima Khawaja reaffirmed the government’s commitment to equipping youth with digital skills, promoting innovation, and strengthening entrepreneurship. Her presence underscored the importance of CEGA in the larger Digital Pakistan vision, where technology and creativity converge to open new avenues for economic growth.

CEGA will provide access to state-of-the-art infrastructure, mentorship from industry leaders, and exposure to international markets, enabling Pakistani creators to engage with global opportunities. By bridging gaps in training, market readiness, and access to networks, the center is expected to help entrepreneurs and young professionals turn creative ideas into sustainable ventures.

With this launch, Ignite and HUM Network are positioning Pakistan as a regional hub for gaming and animation, industries that are projected to grow exponentially worldwide. For Pakistan’s youth, CEGA represents not only a training ground but also a pathway to transform passion into careers that drive both personal growth and national economic progress.
