FWCCI Approves Board of Management to Advance Women’s Business and Export Initiatives

The Faisalabad Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry has approved the establishment of a Board of Management to build institutional oversight and accelerate its ongoing and planned initiatives for women’s business development and export promotion. FPCCI Vice President Qurrat-ul-Ain, speaking as chief guest at the FWCCI Annual General Meeting held at the FCCI Board Room, said the proposed board would provide an institutional mechanism for expediting the chamber’s projects and future initiatives, giving FWCCI a more formal governance structure as it continues to expand its activities.

Qurrat-ul-Ain highlighted FWCCI’s progress since its establishment in 2017, particularly the launch of Pakistan’s first Women Business Incubation Center in 2021, which was upgraded into a Women Resource Centre in 2023. In 2024, the chamber established the Pakistan Women Export Facilitation Center to help women entrepreneurs access international markets and develop export-oriented businesses, extending the chamber’s role beyond domestic support and into a more direct facilitation role for women looking to sell abroad. She said efforts were also under way to acquire 100 acres at the Faisalabad Industrial Estate Development and Management Company for a proposed Women Entrepreneurs Enclave, alongside a separate push to secure two acres at the same site for a dedicated building housing the Pakistan Women Export Facilitation Center and FWCCI itself.

Qurrat-ul-Ain paid tribute to founding president Rubina Amjad for her contribution to establishing and developing the chamber, and urged members to support newly elected President Kanwal Saeed and her team as they take on leadership for the 2026-28 term. Outgoing President Shahida Aftab presented an overview of the chamber’s achievements during her tenure and thanked the executive committee and members for their cooperation throughout her time in office. Taking charge for the new term, Kanwal Saeed said her leadership would focus on addressing internal and external challenges, improving communication with members, building trust and participation, and improving financial discipline, adding that FWCCI should demonstrate clear value to its members by highlighting the opportunities, services and benefits that can come from active participation rather than relying solely on membership contributions.

Newly elected Senior Vice President Samia Tahir and Vice President Dr. Sania Arshad also addressed the AGM, while Punjab Provincial Ombudsperson Dr. Najma Afzal attended as special guest. Founding president Rubina Amjad congratulated the newly elected office-bearers and executive committee, while outgoing Vice President Maimoona Imran conducted the AGM proceedings, which were attended by a large number of FWCCI members.
